The Flag of Israel shows a star formed by two overlapping triangles of blue color on white background, between two horizontal blue stripes. The flag was designed for the Zionist Movement in 1891 and its basic design refers to the Talit, the Jewish prayer shawl, which is also white with blue stripes. The hexagram in the center is the Star of David, which became a Jewish symbol at the end of the Middle Ages in Prague.
