The Flag of Canada is also known in English by Maple Leaf Flag and in French by Unifolié. It was created to celebrate the centenary of the country.
It consists of a red field with a white square at its centre in the ratio of 1:2:1, in the middle of which is featured a stylized, red, 11-pointed maple leaf charged in the centre. The two vertical red bars represent the Pacific and Atlantic oceans, the white bar the territory of Canada and the leaf represents the forest covered by maple trees.
